Knowledge Bases
Multiple ways to add knowledge
There are several ways to add knowledge to your Knowledge Base:
Upload files: Drag and drop documents directly from your device.
Scrape URLs: Extract content from specific web pages and store it as a catalogue of indexed files.
Crawl websites: Index an entire site using a sitemap, or by crawling pages across a domain.
Import from an external source (Notion, Google Drive): Integrate your workspace, select files in the file picker, and import them to your Knowledge Base.
Paste text: Manually create a document by pasting or entering text directly in the text editor.

Information management
Knowledge Bases use a folder structure modeled after a standard filesystem. Create folders and subfolders to organize content by product line, team, campaign, or any other grouping. Within each Knowledge Base, view all indexed files, add tags, create new files, delete outdated material, download previously uploaded content, and rename Knowledge Bases and folders directly from the UI.
Content auto-sync
An auto-sync feature is available for content created via URL or website crawls, as well as external imports. It's disabled by default and can be enabled per folder during the import setup, or in the folder settings on the Knowledge Base page. Set the data update cadence (weekly, monthly, and so on) in the same place.
Brand Kits
Brand Kits are brand identity profiles that allow Profound to create and optimize content aligned with a specific brand. They also let you define and manage multiple brands within the same Profound account, making them especially useful for agencies managing content across several clients.
What a Brand Kit contains
When you create a Brand Kit by entering a brand's website URL, Profound automatically generates a profile broken down into three categories:
Brand information: A high-level overview of the brand, including its mission and values, ideal customer profile, main competitors, and brand point of view.
Brand writing style: An overview of how the brand communicates, including author persona, tone of voice, and specific writing rules.
Brand writing sample: A writing sample extracted from the brand's website and analyzed to calibrate the writing style.
All generated information can be reviewed and edited at any time from the Edit Brand Kit menu.
Audience Segments
Audience Segments allow you to define identities for specific target audience groups, so that content created or optimized by Profound is tailored to resonate with the right readers.
Each Audience Segment requires a name and a description Profound can use to calibrate content tone, vocabulary, and messaging.
All information can be updated at any time from the Edit Audience Segment menu.
