Getting started

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Step 1: Open Context Manager

In Profound, go to Context Manager in the Context section of the left sidebar. The Brand Context tab opens with your generated knowledge records, suggested actions, and any identified gaps.

Step 2: Add Knowledge Base and Brand Kits

In the Knowledge Base and Brand Kits tabs, upload the source-of-truth documents for your brand and your brand identity profiles.

Learn more in 📄 Create and manage Knowledge Bases and 📄 Create and manage Brand Kits.

Step 3: Connect synced data sources

Open the Synced Data tab and connect data sources such as Slack, Email, or Gong. Add sources with a + Add data option and speak to your Profound team to set them up.

Select a data source and toggle the Context ingestion setting to opt-in or opt-out of using each. You can change your choices anytime.

Changing Context ingestion settings requires the Admin role. Learn more in Roles and permissions.

Step 4: Review your knowledge records

Scroll down to the Generated by Profound section. Open each knowledge record and check it for accuracy. Use the References option on any section to see where a claim came from, or use AI Marketer to change anything that reads wrong.

Step 5: Close your identified gaps

Select Review on a gap card in the Identified gaps section and answer the questions AI Marketer asks. Each answer flows into the right knowledge record right away.

Step 6: Add personal memories

On the Personal Context tab, add anything Profound should remember about how you work, such as "Keep my briefs under one page" or "I focus on the EMEA market." These memories personalize your future chats.
