Do I need Agent Analytics to use Pages?

No. Agent Analytics is only needed for live bot and referral activity. Without it, Pages still shows your Answer Engine Insights citation data, runs Page Health, Bot vs. Human Readable Content view, supports submission for indexing, crawls your content, scores AEO readiness, and lets you export.

Why does a page show bot activity, but no citation data?

The two measure different things, so a gap is expected. Citation share in Answer Engine Insights comes from the prompts Profound runs through answer engines, while Agent Analytics records real visits from AI bots crawling your site. Some reasons that explain the mismatch:

• Answer Engine Insights tracks some engines that Agent Analytics doesn't

• Your tracked prompts may not match how people actually search, which skews cited pages toward your prompts rather than real-world usage

• Answer engines often reuse a cached copy of a page instead of fetching it fresh, so a citation can show up with no matching bot visit

Why are the Agent Analytics data columns hidden or locked?

Agent Analytics must be set up for the columns (like Bot Visits, AI indexing, and so on) to appear in the Pages dashboard. Once Agent Analytics is set up for the domain, the columns appear.

What is the AEO readiness score for?

It shows how prepared a specific page is for answer engine performance and gives your content team concrete recommendations to act on. Use it to decide what to improve on a page, and in what order.

Why doesn't the Agent Analytics data in Pages match the Agent Analytics tab?

The two use slightly different date ranges. Answer Engine Insights data is always one day behind, so Pages shows Agent Analytics data on that same one-day-delayed range to keep everything in one view aligned. The Agent Analytics tab updates in real time (the last 7 days up to now), so for the same window its numbers can differ from what you see in Pages.
