Citation Domains Node

The Citation Domains node retrieves hostname or root domain–level citation data.

Use this step when you want to understand which domains are most frequently cited in AI answers referencing your brand. It can be used when:

  • Identifying top citing domains

  • Understanding media or partner visibility

  • Prioritizing digital PR outreach

  • Analyzing domain-level trends

Node configuration

Selecting the Citation Domains node opens its configuration panel on the right side of the Agent Builder.

Metrics (required)

  • Citation Share

  • Citation Count

Dimensions (required)

To retrieve page-level results, use:

  • URL

  • Path

You may optionally add:

  • Date

  • Model

  • Region

Filters (optional)

Use filters to narrow the dataset.

Fields may include:

  • Regions

  • Platforms

  • Topics

  • Tags

  • Asset

  • Personas

  • Prompt Type

  • Citation Type

You can paste a static value or insert a value dynamically from earlier Agent steps by typing /.

When filtering on a field, you must also include that field as a dimension.

Select the time window.

Output Format (required)

Examples:

  • JSON

  • Markdown Table

  • URL List

Output Label (required)

Examples:

  • citation_pages

  • cited_urls


Advanced settings

Limit

Set the maximum number of rows returned by the query. This is helpful when using multiple dimensions or sending data into LLM steps.

Date Interval

Group the date interval by day, week, month, or year. 

Sort Direction

Sort the output in ascending or descending order.


Output

Returns a list of URLs with associated citation metrics.
