Keyword Searches and Create Lists

Last updated: December 17, 2025

There are several ways to query the Prompt Volumes dataset. Profound scans prompts for keywords and generates data points when matches are found. As a result, effective keyword creation and management are essential for producing meaningful query results.

How to use Prompt Volumes

The Prompt Volumes search bar is the fastest way to query the Prompt Volumes dataset. If you have a keyword ready, simply enter it into the search bar and click “Analyze”. You’ll then be redirected to the query results for further analysis.

Bulk Analysis

The Bulk Analysis option allows you to input multiple keywords into the search. This enables you to run queries against the dataset using multiple keywords at once.

Phrase Matching

You can query using exact matching, where results include only prompts containing the exact keyword string provided. Alternatively, you can use phrase matching, which scans for prompts containing the keywords in any order.

For example, if the keyword is “ai tools”, exact matching will exclude a prompt such as “what tools are good in the ai space?”. However, with phrase matching enabled, that prompt will appear in the results since both “ai” and “tools” are present.

How to Create Lists

You can group related keywords into lists to track how specific initiatives or strategies perform across answer engines. Grouping keywords this way allows you to analyze the collective performance of a set of terms.

From the Prompt Volumes landing, select “+ Create List” to create a new list.
